From Cleantecnica - what is the current cost of solar installations
Solar panel cost guide
I talked to solar power suppliers from Binan Laguna: Joey Loyola, the GM, and his marketing man Irwin, a drug rep. They have installed 70 units all ready. He claims that he has deep connection to supplier. We had to part ways with AV Power system because of delayed deliveries, and inability to service quickly our concern.
I found their price to be rather stiff:
Using Norwegian REC panels with inverters and battery (off grid system - it means it can work at nighttime, and off Meralco system; it will work during brown out)
250 watts P66,000
500 watts - P123,000
1,000 watts - P156 000
He sent me a new costing today and his price for China panels is as follows (high quality)
Net price
250 watts P33,000.00
500 watts - P96,000.00
1,000 watts - P154,000
He sent me a new one and this is
200 watts without installation - 30,000
400 watts with installation - 60,000
1,000 watts with installation -150,000
What is the benchmark price in USA per watt: $4.72. x 45 =
P212.40/ watt. So 1 kw would be P212,000 (the prices quoted are near this benchmark price) Typical cost in the US would be between $3 to $7.
Solar panels are cheap they would be not more than $1.00 ($0.73 to be exact) per watt however the soft costs: installation, profit, transport etc brings up the cost to the $4.00 plus level.
But this is the Philippines. I know of a supplier whose price is P75,000/500 watts. Battery power is 2 kVA.
Output of solar panels:
A 1 to 5 kW system will produce l,000 to 5,000 kwh per year. Electricity savings will be between 30 to 50% of your total monthly consumption.
